Hightech Blinds

PRESS RELEASE
Maxim Louvres is delighted to announce the acquisition of Hightech Blinds as of September 2OO8. This acquisition has seen all key staff retained and will facilitate the expansion of Hightech sales, marketing and manufacturing throughout 2OO8 - 2OO9.

Managing Director Adrian Harvey said 'Hightech's existing customers can rest assured that the existing relationships will not only be preserved but enhanced. Our aim is to re-brand Hightech products under the Maxim brand then, benchmark them as the leading awning and blind systems for architectural applications throughout Australia and New Zealand.'

Maxim Aluminium Shutters

The Maxim Aluminium Shutter System is designed to be long-term, quality solution to control sun, wind, privacy and security. All finishes are powdercoated and anodised with up to a 20 year warranty.

All shutters have been tested for wind loading by the Structure Testing Laboratory at the University of Queensland and are structurally adequate to sustain wind loads for AS1170.2 (1989) requirements.

Frame:
50 x 50mm

Blades:
Fixed or operable at 45, 70 ,90, 115 and 150mm.

Control:
Sliding, Bi-folding, Stacking and Fixed.

Custom:
Designs can be considered for larger projects.

MS45, MS70, MS90, MS115, MS150

All components are aluminium or UV Stabilised PVC. All bolts, fixings and wheels are stainless steel.

Tracks can be curved if necessary. Tracks can be recessed or surface mounted. All tracks have a cover channel to hide gaps where surfaces / slabs are not level.

Flush mount drop bolts are fitted to all bi-fold and stacking doors (optional for sliding doors), key locks can be fitted.

Maxim Fins

Maxim Fins are extruded aluminium elliptical blades that can be designed for horizontal and vertical configurations. The blades can be operated or fixed at varying angles and add a definite contemporary edge to any achitecture.

Fixed:
Fins can be fitted between flat plates, channels, RHS and SHS sections or
completely framed and unframes.

Adjustable:
Fins are fitted between a 100 x 50mm RHS aluminium frame which incorporates the gear mechanism. The fins are adjusted by either handle, lever or motor.

Motorised:
Motors can be remote controlled, hardwired or automatically controlled and linked to the Building Management System (BMS).

Maxim Continuous Louvres

Maxim MCL75 (Extruded Aluminium) / Maxim MCLC74 (Western Red Cedar)
The Maxim Louvre is a non-retractable louvre designed for external installations to horizontal, sloping vertical or curved glazing.

Solar heat gain is reduced by up to 90% on glazed areas and the fully adjustable blades also control glare and privacy and allow outward vision. The Maxim louvre is designed to comply with AS1170.2 wind loading.

Assembly:
Rack Arm:
The Rack Arm or Louvre Supports are aluminium with nylon pivots to which the louvres are clipped. The rack arm is installed to line up with window mullions where possible (1200 – 1300mm centres).

Maintenance:
Mechanisms are virtually maintenance free. Louvres can be unclipped for cleaning, access or repairs. Do not use high pressure hoses for cleaning.

Control:
Fixed.
Hand-wheel – for areas which can be access easily.
Gearbox – with detachable rod and handle. Fixed through wall if required.
Electric motor – with hard wired or remote switching.
T200 / T300 – automatic controls that adjust the blades automatically to maintain internal light levels controlled by a photocell and lux meter.

Maxim External Venetians

Maxim External Venetians are a versatile retractable Venetian that reduces solar heat gain by up to 9O% and reduces internal temperatures by up to 10%.

Blades can be fully adjusted and fully retracted. Blades are held in place by side guides or stainless steel wire guides which stop the blades being moved in light winds. These blades should be positioned close to glazing if possible. If blades are positioned away from glazing then they must be retracted in strong winds.

Control:
Manual via crank handle.
Motorised with remote control or standard switching.
Wind Sensors will automatically retract blades when the wind reaches a certain velocity.
Automatic controls that adjust blades automatically to maintain internal light levels, and can be integrated with Building Management Systems (BMS).

MV72:
The SR72 has been designed to be more stable in windy conditions than the conventional ‘C curve’ blade. It has 3 folds and a neoprene strip insert making it substantially stronger. Each blade is clipped to the ladder tape rather than just resting in the ladders. The blade profile is forced downwards by wind, making it more stable.

Aluminium angled extrusion for sunshades and privacy screens.

Slat joiner:
1. Swaged aluminium rod.
2. Threaded rod with aluminium tube spacers.

Maxim Weatherproof Louvres

For Plant Rooms, Car Parks and service shafts. The maxim weatherproof louvre can be made in panels or assembled on site in continuous lengths with concealed support frame.

These are a 2-stage louvre which stops water penetration but allows 50-55% air flow. They can be face or reveal fitted and can have doors incorporated in to the opening. Bird mesh backing and fire damper can also be incorporated. flat bar positioned at different centres for catwalks, sunshades and privacy screens. Can be powdercoated with up to 20 year warranties.
